What this ribbon symbolizes

An orange ribbon is a symbol of the fight for voters' rights in Florida. People that  supported the counting of the votes wore and still wear orange ribbons in solidarity with those who felt disenfranchised.  The orange color is used because of the large amount of oranges grown in Florida.  The black ribbon is worn to symbolize the death of democracy by the forceful take over of the Presidency by George W Bush and the Republican Party during the coup of 2000.  This ribbon symbolizes the unity of those two concepts.  Wear it in pride until George W Bush and the Republican are no Longer in control of this country.
